Ana Martins, a researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of Aveiro has been selected to participate in the 11th Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF), scheduled for September 2024. This prestigious event brings together 200 carefully selected young researchers in mathematics and computer science to engage with laureates of the fields, including recipients of the Abel Prize, ACM A.M. Turing Award, ACM Prize in Computing, Fields Medal, IMU Abacus Medal and Nevanlinna Prize.
Ana Martins is a recent PhD graduate in Applied Mathematics from the University of Aveiro, and she is pursuing research topics in computer science and statistical analysis of information.
The HLF event is organized annually since 2013 by the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation and aims to foster interaction and exchange among participants through various formats such as lectures and panels, master classes and workshops, poster flash sessions and career guidance. Laureates deliver lectures on their chosen topics, sparking intensive discussions with the young researchers, making the forum more of a networking event than a traditional scientific conference. This setup is designed to motivate and inspire the next generation of scientists.
