Abstract: In this seminar, Dr. Mykhaylo Lobachev will present the work and mission of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at Odessa Polytechnic National University (https://op.edu.ua/en/iair). He will introduce the institute’s key research areas, current projects, and international initiatives, including the Fresh Air Hackathon (https://www.airinstitute.in/events) and recent developments in AI applications. The session will also explore opportunities for collaboration in research and education, particularly within the Erasmus+ Key Action 2 framework. This talk aims to promote dialogue and identify mutual interests between the research communities of Odessa Polytechnic and the University of Aveiro.
Short bio: Dr. Mykhailo Lobachev is the Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics at Odesa Polytechnic National University, where he also serves as a Full Professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analysis. He holds a PhD in Technical Sciences, specializing in electronic computing systems and complex networks. He has over two decades of experience in computing systems, AI integration, and smart sensor networks. His research spans intelligent data analysis, time series modeling, machine learning in distributed systems, and safety-critical computing. Dr. Lobachev is also active in international collaboration, particularly in Erasmus+ programs and joint education initiatives.
