Paulo Jorge Ferreira, Rector of Universidade de Aveiro (UAveiro) and IEETA’s researcher, has assumed the position of Vice-President of ECIU University – the European Consortium of Innovative Universities. The invitation for this prestigious role came from the current President, Jan-Ingvar Jönsson of Linköping University, Sweden.
As part of his new responsibilities, Paulo Jorge Ferreira will face the challenge of coordinating the community of practice FOR-EU4ALL. This transnational collaboration forum brings together the 64 existing European alliances or universities, comprising 560 higher education institutions from 35 countries across the European Union, as well as other nations such as Iceland, Norway, and Turkey.
The FOR-EU4ALL community of practice has recently been awarded a significant funding of 1.8 million euros from the European Commission through the Erasmus+ program. This funding, announced at the end of June, will support the ongoing efforts to foster collaboration and innovation among the member institutions.
