On July 19th, a significant moment took place at the School of Technology and Management of Águeda (ESTGA) of the University of Aveiro (UA) as Mário Rodrigues, a distinguished professor, was officially sworn in as the new Director of ESTGA-UA. The inauguration ceremony, held at the ESTGA-UA auditorium, also marked the departure of the former Director, Marco Costa, and the respective Executive Committee.

During the ceremony, Paulo Jorge Ferreira, Rector of the University of Aveiro, administered the oath to Mário Rodrigues, who has been actively associated with ESTGA-UA for over two decades. In his inaugural address, Mário Rodrigues unveiled his action plan for the upcoming four-year period, emphasizing several key priorities. These include strengthening collaborations with ESTGA-UA’s partner companies to foster a closer connection to the business world, and promoting initiatives that encourage research and innovation for experimental development.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed guests, including business partners of ESTGA-UA, the Mayor of the Municipality, Jorge Almeida, the President of the Parish Council of Águeda e Borralha, Nuno Cardoso, and the representative of the Associative Nucleus of Students of ESTGA, Nuno Oliveira, alongside the supportive ESTGA-UA community.
