by Susana Brás,  0 Comments

IEETA made a strong impression at TechWeek 2025, showcasing the breadth and societal impact of its research across technology, data, and ethics.

Researchers presented both technological innovations and critical reflections on how artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data management shape our digital world.

André Zúquete, Hélder Gomes, Gonçalo Ferreira, Diogo Almeida, and Tomás Matos demonstrated a digital Bill of Lading management system based on a public blockchain platform, ensuring transparent and secure lifecycle management for global maritime documents.

Within the DigiAdvance Accelerator Workshop – Artificial Intelligence, António Neves presented the DigiAdvance project, dedicated to digital skills and lifelong learning. Daniel Canedo discussed “Teaching Machines to See: AI in Image Processing”, focusing on explainability and robustness in computer vision systems. Susana Brás delivered “Inclusive Data, Inclusive AI”, a thought-provoking session advocating for inclusive, fair, and human-centred AI development.

Additionally, Mário Campolargo closed the Testbed ED-X workshop with an inspiring message on creating economic and social value from data, emphasizing the importance of interoperability, governance, and ethical responsibility.

Through its multidisciplinary participation, IEETA reaffirmed its role in the national and international innovation landscape, committed to responsible technology with real societal impact.
