On October 31st, IEETA hosted the 31st Portuguese Conference on Pattern Recognition (RECPAD2025, https://sites.google.com/view/recpad2025/home), promoted by the Portuguese Association for Pattern Recognition (APRP, https://aprp.pt). It was an event aimed to foster cooperation, knowledge exchange and networking within the scientific community in the fields of Pattern Recognition, Image Analysis and Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Soft Computing and related areas.
RECPAD 2025 was a great success and reached a record of 192 participants and 126 paper presentations. The RECPAD program featured two talks delivered by renowned researchers in the field: the APRP speaker Armando J. Pinho (University of Aveiro) and the Keynote Speaker, Mihaela van der Schaar (University of Cambridge). Awards were delivered to RecPad Best Paper, RecPad Best Poster and APRP Best MSc Award.
The Organizing Committee included the IEETA researchers Ana Martins (https://www.ua.pt/pt/p/80567500), Armando J. Pinho https://www.ua.pt/pt/p/10312644), Bernardo Marques (https://www.ua.pt/pt/p/80329619), Eurico Pedrosa (https://www.ua.pt/pt/p/80334862) and Sónia Gouveia (https://www.ua.pt/pt/p/10339160). The event was also supported by a dedicated group of student volunteers – Adriano Gomes, Anaísa Lucena, Bianca Guerreiro, Bruna Alves, Inês Figueiredo, José Contente and Sérgio Oliveira – and had the collaboration of the AETTUA (https://www.aettua.pt/) and BEST Aveiro (https://bestaveiro.web.ua.pt/) associations.
