A delegation from China’s Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) visited the University of Aveiro (UA) to explore opportunities for institutional cooperation in areas of shared interest, particularly in computer science, telecommunications, environmental studies and health sciences.
The Chinese delegation included Yuanyuan Li, Vice-Dean of the School of Automation, and Professors Zhiqin Zhu and Xin Huang, also from the same school. UA representatives at the meeting were Alexandra Queirós, Vice-Rector, José Luís Oliveira, IEETA Coordinator, Joaquim Ferreira, from IT, Amadeu Soares, Director of CESAM, Bruno Jesus, Director of IBIMED, and Miguel Oliveira, from the International Division.
The visit provided an opportunity to present UA main research and development areas and several internationally relevant projects currently underway across its research units. The discussions helped identify potential areas for future collaboration, including joint research initiatives, academic exchanges and mobility programs for students and faculty.
Founded in 1950, CQUPT is one of China’s key universities under the national strategic development plan and is recognized for its strong focus on technological innovation and applied research.
