Last Wednesday, an event took place at IEETA to celebrate its 25th anniversary. This moment brought together several generations of IEETA members, from its founders to current members, including master and PhD students – the past, present, and (hopefully) future.
The day started with a bonding and get-together activity with pitch presentations and games for students. There is no better way for people to bond and connect than food, so all of IEETA’s community gathered for a celebratory lunch. Afterwards, António Sousa Pereira (one of the founders) walked us through IEETA’s creation and the main challenges of that time. This was followed by a panel discussion moderated by former IEETA coordinator Armando Pinho on the challenges ahead of the scientific unit.
The day ended with everyone singing happy birthday and long life to IEETA, followed by a piece of cake!
