Synopsis / Objectives

VoxSenes project (http://voxsenes.web.ua.pt/) aims to study the speech changes due to aging at the segmental and suprasegmental levels by analyzing the variation of acoustic and articulatory parameters.

Results / Achievements

Task 1: Acoustic study of EP vowels produced by a large number of speakers, divided into different age groups;
Task 2: Ultrasound study of the relationship between the production of vowels (tongue shape and motion), the changes on formant frequencies and age;
Task 3: Longitudinal study of the age-related changes of rhythm ( evaluation of rhythmic changes throughout a certain span of time for a same individual).
