Synopsis / Objectives
The objectives are to develop methods for time series forecasting to predict the number of customers in retail stores hourly, and for automatic sizing and scheduling of teams in a workforce management system. The system is used monthly to assign human resources in approximately 2000 workplaces of several companies.
Results / Achievements
Contributions on multi-step ahead forecasting strategies in intermittent time series and ensemble models.
