IEETA researchers propose a new framework to integrate AI in Industry

An innovative study developed the Unified Talent Management Process Framework 5.0, a model that brings three dimensions together: business process management, people (talent) management, and Industry 5.0. This framework results from a groundbreaking literature review that jointly focused on these three dimensions, which are usually studied in separate. The core idea is that technology should support human work rather than replace it.

AI and automation can take over routine, repetitive tasks, freeing workers to focus on creativity, innovation, decision-making and human interaction. This framework also stresses that is essential to prepare people for new ways of working, highlighting lifelong learning through digital tools so that workers can acquire or update skills. This can help organisations respond faster to technological change and shifting labour-market demands.

The study was authored by Ana Ferreira, Teresa Silva, Henrique Fernandes, Juliana Salvadorinho and Leonor Teixeira. The work was carried out within UA’s Master’s in Industrial Engineering and Management (MEGI), in the Department of Economics, Management, Industrial Engineering and Tourism (DEGEIT), and at the Institute of Electronics and Informatics Engineering of Aveiro (IEETA).
