Pedro Miguel Beleza Teixeira received the Raul Almeida Award from Turismo Centro de Portugal in recognition of his PhD thesis “Information systems for the development of tourism in the digital era: a framework for accessible tourism”.

This research work presents an innovative framework designed to eliminate barriers and promote truly inclusive tourist destinations based on information systems and digital technologies. Pedro Teixeira PhD research was developed in the scope of the Accessible Tourism: Co-creation of Tourism Experience through Web-based Intelligent System (ACTION) project and was developed under the scientific guidance of Leonor Teixeira (DEGEIT & IEETA), and Celeste Eusébio (DEGEIT & GOVCOPP).
