This page present briefly the work towards the creation of a prototype for a generic application to explore 3D models inside a Virtual Reality Environment, using a Head Mounted Display, and orientation / acceleration sensors. The addition of a camera, later on, gives the possibility to enrich the environment with augmented reality capabilities of video see-through type and to test interaction techniques based on marker recognition.
With this work, a low cost system was developed that allows fast development and testing of Virtual and Augmented Reality scenarios as well as the test of new navigation techniques and interactions within these scenarios..
