Travelling to Aveiro

 

Aveiro is located on the Atlantic coast of Portugal, about 260 km north of Lisbon and 80 km south of Oporto. In most cases, Oporto airport will be more convenient than Lisbon airport, although both options are possible. From any of these airports, the train is probably the most comfortable way to travel to Aveiro. There are many daily connections.

 

The railway station, suggested hotels, conference site and most points of interest are within walking distance (30 min max). If needed, Aveiro has a bus public transport system that serves the city of Aveiro and the surroundings.

 

 

From Oporto Airport to Aveiro

 

Take the tube, violet line, from "Aeroporto" to the main train station, "Campanhã". Taking a taxi to Campanhã station is also possible and should take about 20 minutes. From Campanhã, take a train to Aveiro. It should take between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the type of train. Check the Portuguese Railroad Company (CP) for schedules and further info.

 

In Aveiro, you can take a taxi to your hotel (see our suggested list of hotels). Most hotels are in 15 minutes walking distance to the train station, so you may as well prefer to walk.

 

If you come from the airport to Aveiro by car, you should follow signs indicating highway A1 and Lisbon. In A1, take the Aveiro-norte exit and follow directions for A25 and Aveiro. A detailed route can be consulted in ViaMichelin.

 

 

From Lisbon Airport to Aveiro

 

Take bus number 5 or a taxi to the main train the "Oriente" railway station. It should take about 10 minutes. In Oriente station, take a train to Aveiro. From Oriente, it takes about 2h to 2h20 to reach Aveiro, using the fast trains (Alfa, Intercity). Check the Portuguese Railroad Company (CP) for schedules and further info.
