Relation to previous events

This Symposium on Language and Robots is one of a series of events organized by the Distributed Language Group:

• The Conference on Cognitive Dynamics and the Language Sciences (Cambridge, UK, September 2005), with papers published in a special issue of Language Sciences.

• The External Symbol Grounding Workshop (Plymouth, UK, July 2006), which highlighted not only the psychological and linguistic view of language dynamics and grounding, but also the computational modeling aspects – a collection of papers is published as a special issue of Interaction Studies.

• The Symposium on Language Dynamics, and the Phenomenology of Individual Experience (Grimstad, Norway, May 2007), which will publish a collection of papers in the Journal of Pragmatics.
