|
The Portuguese Association of Automatic Control (APCA)
invites researchers, professionals, students, industrialists and businessmen to participate in
the CONTROLO 2002, the 5th Portuguese Conference on Automatic Control. The conference will
be held from September 5 to September 7, 2002, at the
University of Aveiro, located in the city of
Aveiro, Portugal. The working
language of the conference is English.
Table of contents
Scope
The conference is intended as an international forum where an effective exchange of knowledge
and experience amongst researchers active in various theoretical and applied areas of systems and
control can take place. This is also an excellent opportunity to promote the portuguese control
community and stimulate the establishment of new international links. Participation of engineers
and other scientists from industry is particularly welcome. The program will include an ample
space for promoting the implementation of new technologies, emphasizing simultaneously the
real-world challenges in their applications. This edition of the event will include an industrial
forum to address recent applications of control theory and new systems architectures in industry.
The program also includes a special event for students, with emphasis in the area of mobile
robotics.
Important dates

Instructions for authors
Authors are asked to submit electronic versions of original papers. The length of each paper
should not exceed 6 two columns, single spaced A4 pages (please do not use the US letter paper
size). Each paper should follow the formatting guidelines used in IFAC conferences. In
particular, the cover page should contain the title, the author's name, affiliation, address and
e-mail address, as well as a brief abstract and five keywords. Detailed formatting instructions
can be found in the following documents:
To submit your final paper, prepare either a PostScript or a PDF camera ready version of the
paper, attach it to an e-mail message, and send it to
Alexandre Mota. Please indicate in the subject line that
you are submitting a paper to the Controlo2002 conference, and put in the body of the message
the following information: title of the paper, authors and respective affiliations, and the
full address and e-mail of the corresponding author. If you are resubmitting a paper, please
state that fact. As your e-mail message will be processed manually, please wait one of two days
for electronic confirmation of the reception of the paper.
Registration instructions
To register, fill out the registration form (PDF
[23k],
Word [103k]), and send it (with payement) by air mail to the
address (also indicated in the registration form)
