The Transverse Activity on Intelligent Robotics (ATRI) was created in IEETA in 1999, acknowledging the strategic importance of developing this field of research in the institute. The activity builds on synergies between the main basic research areas of the institute. Currently, it involves researchers from all laboratories of IEETA. ATRI is involved in the European Robotics Research Network (EURON) and its interest groups.

Recent highlights

• CAMBADA middle-size robotic soccer team won the 3rd place in RoboCup World Championship'2009. Check here for more information.
• CAMBADA middle-size robotic soccer team won the 1st place in RoboCup World Championship'2008. Check here for more information.
• UA-SRVC team won the 2nd place in the "Software League" of the Semantic Robot Vision Challenge'2008.
• Syposium on Language and Robots, organized at the University of Aveiro, December 2007.
• FC Portugal 3D soccer simulation team won the 1st place in RoboCup World Championship '2006.
